Rose Iron Works

This screen is a premier example of the quality of design and craftsmanship that has come from Rose Iron Works, Inc., from the turn of the century. Other examples have become part of our visual vocabulary –along the wall at the former entryway of the Cleveland Botanical Gardens or dividing screens in the old Halle Department Store. Rose Iron Works has designed and executed most area decorative iron screens, wall sconces, gates in the same factory for over 100 years. This 100+ year-old firm has been on East 43rd Street for most of the century. Started by Martin Rose who came from Vienna and Budapest, the Rose family stills owns and works in this factory.
