Brent Kee Young (b. 1946 )

Brent Kee Young has been a professor of glass art at the Cleveland Institute of Art since 1973. His work transforms glass into objects of art using abstract ideas and mostly recognizable forms. Not unlike the Tyrrell tapestry, Young fuses traditional craft (glassmaking) with contemporary form. He has had solo exhibitions in the United States and Japan , His work is included in several dozen national and international exhibits and is in the collection of the Corning Museum of Glass and the High Museum of Art, Atlanta , the Art Institute of Chicago, the Lanning Foundation in Los Angeles as well as several other private and corporate collections .
